of Harare :
Harare is most beautiful place and also capital of

Harare International Airport : Largest Airport in the
country
Harare International Airport is an international
airport in Harare. It is a largest airport in the entire country. It’s runway is at 4725 meters
one of the longest runway in Africa continent. This airport is operated by the
Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe Place. The Commissioned in 1956 and officially
opened on 5 February 1957th, with a cost of price £924000.
In 1950 it is abandoned because of inadequate space. So site had to found for
safer and comfortable business activities. So that the government was an appointed
Southern Rhodesia Aerodrome Board in January 1947. The main theme of this Board
was to select the suitable site, acquisition, construction and maintenance.
In 1949 the government decided to
purchase the Kentucky and Adair farms east for the construction purpose. In the
same year Minister of Mines and Transport supports the construction. After that
government is announce that it would completed by 1954 and it was developed as a
joint user aerodrome for both civil aviation and southern Rhodesian Air Force.
The first aircraft land at the new airport was SRAF Anson.
